Off-leash dog-park etiquette

Off-leash dog parks are a great way to let our furry friends run free and meet their fellow pooches. But it’s important to remember it’s our responsibility as owners to keep it safe for both people and dogs. So here is a few important do’s and don’ts to remember next if you want to take your dog to an off-leash park.

Do’s

  • Ensure your dog is fully vaccinated
  • Desex your dog
  • Only bring them if friendly and social
  • Teach your dog recall
  • Monitor your dog’s behavioural cues

Don’ts

  • Take your puppy before 12 weeks
  • Bring your dog’s favourite toys
  • Bring overly excited, overly shy or aggressive dogs
  • Get distracted
